LOVE IN DEED & TRUTH

Greetings Saints! “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 1 John‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬. This passage starts out “little children,” with the understanding that the listeners have a lot to learn pertaining to this subject. We love to talk and be philosophical about scripture, but it also comes a time when you have to put what you learned into practice. The Bible says: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭ESV‬‬. You are only deceiving yourselves if you believe you are pleasing God without actually helping someone in some capacity. The scripture says let’s do everything in deed and in truth. And it also says we will worship in Spirit and in truth. One is natural (deed), the other is spiritual (worship). They both have the same key element, truth, which is Jesus Christ. Neither can be done and be pleasing to God without the Son. So let’s not just talk about helping one another and actually do it, in Jesus name, Amen! Stay Blessed and Faithful! Pastor Ken Simmons
